Revenge is Sweet….

In what can only be described as a stunning performance by the Tulips saw us coming away from fellow high fliers Kettering with a deserved 4-2 victory.

The only change to Saturday’s disappointing draw at Stratford saw Liam Moore return to the side replacing the injured White. After a bright start by the Tulips and against the run of play Utd found themselves 2 down after Ranger fired home after 7 mins and a howler by on loan keeper Jones left Ranger with a tap in after 24 mins.

The Tulips pressed hard again and inexplicably were not awarded a penalty after their keeper brought down Bart.

However it didn't take long for arrears to be reduced as a fine ball in by Jack saw Bart tap in from a few yards on 29 mins.

Good work by Ceesay on 35 mins saw his delivery tapped home again by Bart to the raptures of the Tulip supporters.

More good work by Jack on the right saw a ball into Bart which saw him twist and turn and bury the ball into the net to complete a 8 minute hat-trick.

More good work by Ceesay on the right who without doubt had his best game for the club and having the right back on toast all night saw a delivery into Bart who blazed over from 8 yards when easier to score. HT 3-2 to the Tulips.

The second half was a very tetchy and scrappy affair but the home team never troubled our defence which again was well marshalled by Moore & Johnson.

In attack Kettering's keeper who made a worldie in the first half from Alfie Bendle kept the home team in the game with 2 smart saves.

Bang on 90 mins Jack made the game safe after persistence paid off and firing the ball into the back of the net to send the travelling supporters home a happy bunch indeed.

Each to a man this was a top performance with plenty of heart and backbone despite going 2 down. Perhaps Jimmy needs to tell the lads before they go out they're behind as it seems they only start playing after going down a goal or two.

Att 1002

Bring on Saturday’s FA Cup game v Alfreton in what will feel like a new ground and hoping for a big crowd. Spread the word…
