Tulips through to Play Off Final!
On Tuesday 10th March 2020, Spalding United played Chasetown in the final home league game of the season before covid hit. A 0-3 loss was watched by 94 spectators. Fast forward 6 years a play off semi final, a marquee, cold beers on draught and Dj Nick T banging out the tunes. 2,038 supporters made their way into the Sir Halley Stewart. Tulips have to settle for a point in the spring sunshine...
Once again the Tulips supporters travelled in large numbers hoping to keep their title challenge alive in Cambridgeshire with a visit to St Ives Town . Tulips get their Wellies on at Garden Walk
In all fairness to Royston Town with the recent bout of wet weather they have managed to get games on, the surface was not great but we needed to get 3 points as we travelled to Hertfordshire, after a first half to forget we coped much better second half going down the slope with the breeze behind us, Royston rock bottom of the table had given a good account of themselves but when Yusifu Ceesay drilled the ball home on the hour us Tulip fans breathed a bit easier. Back to Winning Ways in Suffolk
Having only picked up 1 point from the last two home games nothing less than a win was required as we headed down the A14 on Saturday.
