The name of Maniche Sano Sani appeared on the starting line up team sheet for the new years day fixture against St Ives Town. A forgotten man to most but Jimmy who had sent him out on loan for valuable game time rolled the dice and gave him a start in the number 10 shirt. A first half goal and Man of the Match performance turned out to be a masterstroke by the Tulips boss!
After a torrid start and a goal down inside 10 minutes, we looked as dull as the clouds above. Dion Sembie-Ferris limped off, replaced by the lively Leshabela and all of a sudden we woke up. Sano Sani strike on 35 min was followed by 2 goals in the space of 2 minutes before the break! Big Bart from a corner, and then Joseph with a cracking strike from the edge of the box! It was quiet remarkable how that turned out to be the end of the scoring.
After the break, both teams created plenty of chance. Tony turned one round the post and tipped one on to the bar, down the other end Joseph should have added to his first half strike and both Bart and Sani see efforts inches away.
A much needed win to add to the 3 draws over the festive period makes our league standing looks much more respectable, a positive result at Bedford on Saturday to keep the unbeaten run going will be something us Tulip fans will be hoping for...........
