Now you've seen the Tulips........

Jack Roberts winning goal was described by manager Jimmy Dean as a brilliant moment for Spalding United, few could argue the fans favourite strike in added on time in the first half flew past Nightingale and proved to be the winning goal. The supporters turned up in their  numbers and despite a soaking by the new installed sprinklers pre kick off spirits were not dampened as us Tulips looked to progress against a team who 1 year ago were 2 leagues higher.

We are getting very used to conceding first and after 13 minutes it happened again, Joe Haigh shot going in off the post, the lead did not last long - Josh McGammon combined with the returning Ceesay and the winger squeezed it in at the near post on 18 minutes.

Jimmy got it right in the previous round and proved it again after the break, strong at the back and with Alfie Bendle who was the best player on the pitch non stop workrate, the Daggers rarely threatened. In fact when Jordan Nicholson got clear late on he should have iced the job up but shot tamely and Nightingale easily saved.

October 2004 was the last time we got to Qualifying round 4 and was stuffed 6-0 at the hands of Thurrock, hopefully this year we can put that right whoever comes out of the hat in Monday's draw........
