Saturday at The Grove

The Grove home of Halesowen Town doesn't hold good memories for us travelling Tulip fans, Saturdays fixture unfortunately ended the same way.
A big crowd and friendly home supporters its a good away ground to visit. I don't like consistently moaning about referees but official, Jamie Conde, didn't really give us anything on the day. He did gift the home side a penalty on 10 mins conceded by Breeden who saved the tame spot kick with his legs. Within 2 minutes, Connor Tomlinson had us in front a left foot shot into the corner of the net, Halesowen should have been level before the break a 4 on 1 situation was squandered with Breeden again making the save.
Big Bart had a great chance to increase the lead after Fox found him unmarked from no more than 6 yards out but the striker completely missed the ball. We didn't trouble the home keeper after that as the Yeltz dominated. On 77min Ponticelli, who had failed from 12 yards, fired hard and low in the bottom corner to level it up. Sani, a second half substitute, offered very little up top with Bart as us Tulips got deeper, Kieren Donnelly headed wide then blazed over before he became the match winner. The player who rescued Halesowen in that play off final struck again, a goal good enough to win any game in the 94th minute.
