Tulips Bounce Back at Bury Town Under the Lights

Ram Meadow, the home of Bury Town, a very friendly and welcoming football club was our 9th away league fixture of the season. A quick turn round after Saturday's disappointing performance was the opportunity to close the gap on leaders Harborough. Connor Johnson out with injury and Lewis White’s unfortunate detour meant Ben Hart started alongside Liam Moore at the back. Jordan Nicholson started his first game and really should have given us the perfect start but shot wide with the goal in front of him, a good grass playing surface see us have a far better opening spell but as in the previous 3 games we conceded first again- Ally Conway with a  smart finish after good work down the right, this brought Bury to life and they should really have increased that lead before the break .

Goals change games and this one certainly did, Jimmy had all 5 subs warming up and changes looked inevitable, but on 59 minutes Roberts pin ball cross was right on the money for Bart Cybulski to power his header past Beckwith in the home goal. Jimmy introduced Lawlor and Sani Sane and within 6 minutes the Tulips went in front this time Bart finding Jack Roberts and the young winger fired home for his 7th goal of the season. Lamine Sherrif should have wrapped the game up after Clifton put it on a plate for him but keeper Beckwith denied him, the same player then saw Red on 84 minutes what looked like a coming together on the edge of the box was deemed dangerous play by referee Alexander Ship. Now a man short and with Lewis White’s late arrival and introduction our boys hung on for 3 very hard earned points.

On to Saturday now and a huge FA Cup tie awaits , grab your friend your neighbour and let’s fill out the Halley and be that 12th man to what should be a terrific occasion for our football club........
