Once again the Tulips supporters travelled in large numbers hoping to keep their title challenge alive in Cambridgeshire with a visit to St Ives Town
. In the first half it was hard to believe that the hosts had lost their last 9 games as we struggled to contain the black and white shirts who looked fully committed to the cause . On 35 mins they got their reward Lewis White's foul on Kaunda in the box penalty awarded and Michael Richens easily beat Wilks , it could and should have got worse before the interval a cross from the right found Alexandrou unmarked and a tap in was blazed over the bar . Head scratching head shaking we needed to wake up and after Jimmy got into them the second half was much improved. Heroics from keeper Taylor who made three superb saves in quick succession including tipping a McCammon shot on to the bar , Jack Roberts who came to the rescue a week earlier did it again on 56 mins with a wonder strike from 25 yards . Ben Fowkes forced another save from Taylor on 70 mins but with Richens and the impressive Duncan Idehen standing firm our search for a late winner looked unlikely , Harborough's 2-0 win meant the gap is now 5 points if it goes to 8 Tuesday its going to be the play-offs for us i'm afraid .........
