Away games keep coming and so do the wins, Ilkeston Town was the challenge as we started our FA Cup journey, injuries keep mounting up for Jimmy as Lewis White the latest missed out after picking up a groin strain. Yusifu Ceesay, who scored a cheeky back heel goal on Monday, should have hit the target again as early as 4 minutes but this time the ball came back off the post. It was a very bright start on a well maintained 3G pitch but on 34 minutes we went a goal behind - Essien shot caught out Chappie and the big keeper seemed slow getting down as the ball hit the net. However, within 3 minutes, his opposite number Wharton gifted an equaliser which Jack Roberts took with some ease, a constant danger down the right the tricky winger could of added a second before the break.
As the wind got up and the rain came down the Tulip away support got behind the goal for the second half and hoped they could get the job done without a replay. The host's were better after the break but never really caused Chappie any more problems. Jimmy rang the changes and turned to Abduramane Sano-Sani, his energy and willing to get forward changed the game. Jordan Nicholson replaced Roberts and Curtis Thompson second appearance from the bench added bite in the midfield. As the clock ticked down and the board for added on time went up Mani not only won the free kick but got on the end of Nico's cross and headed home to the sheer delight of the Tulip fans. Tulips, Tulips, Tulips and Que Sera Sera rang around the ground, you really cannot beat a last minute winner especially in the cup............
