Tulips Snatch Victory from Jaws of Defeat

Extraordinary, incredible, amazing, you really had to be at Quorn away on Saturday to witness what unfolded in the last ten minutes of this football match.....

Quorn coming into this game on the back of a 5-0 midweek loss had a point to prove and certainly tested us Tulips. The home side took the lead from the penalty spot, Ryan Beswick on target, the same player saw yellow when he hacked down Roberts and then dished out the same treatment on Tosin - this time referee Tom Wall kept the card in his pocket. In between Ceesay had a goal disallowed by a linesman's flag, Bart headed over and then saw his next effort come back of the post and roll along the line. Down the other end, Wilks got in a mess and this time it was us clearing of the line.

No sooner had the 2nd half started it was level at 1-1 Ceesay's cross diverted in of a home defender, unfortunately, we still have a habit of gifting goals and within 5 mins the lead was restored - Ryan Fryatt with time on the ball was robbed by Fenton who easily beat Wilks, more questionable defending on 70mins saw O'Boyle run unchallenged and his cross was poked home by Fenton.

With Harborough winning, the six point lead at start of play was getting halved, Sani Sane who was already on was joined by Clifton as Jimmy had to roll the dice, into the last ten minutes us Tulips really gave it a go and on 86 min Sani Sane got on the end of a mix up in the six yard box, as the board went up 6 mins of added on time everyone hoped for one more chance and when the ball came in from the right Clifton's shot hit the keepers leg and Sani Sane was on hand again to force it over the line for 3-3. Time for a winner? You bet there was! Every Quorn player in their own half as Bart's throw found Clifton, he crossed and as the ball fell to Roberts he buried the chance to the sheer Hysteria that then followed. It really was as the saying goes Unbelievable Jeff.............
